Millie Fierce
Author and illustrator Jane Manning wrote the perfect book to encourage students to respect everyone for who they are.
Millie is known at her school for being quiet and sweet. However, no one at school really listens to her. Sadly, this means her classmates ignore her, walk over her beautiful chalk drawings, and don’t ask for her opinion.
After Millie’s had enough of this treatment, she decides to become fierce! She changes her hair, sharpens her nails, and runs around very loudly. Sadly, this makes Millie a bit mean. When she finally gets attention, she realizes it is for the wrong reasons. Thankfully, Millie returns to her true self while keeping a bit of fierceness in her in case she ever needs it.
