How to use the Stuck Problem and Solution lesson:
★ Teacher Guide
This interactive read aloud for Stuck includes a teacher’s guide that outlines the problem and solution lesson. It provides an introduction to help prepare your students for their learning and set a purpose for the read aloud. It also includes important vocabulary words and the strands that the lesson covers.
★ Anchor Chart
The problem and solution anchor chart is a great reference for teaching students about text structure. The chart can be printed as is or it can be an interactive anchor chart that you create with your students while reading the book.
★ Talking Points
There are higher level thinking questions and talking points to prompt student discussion. Each one has a page number so that you know exactly where in the story to stop!
These will guide students to deepen their understanding and respond in meaningful ways. These questions can be printed out on a one page guide or on sticky notes, which will allow you to place them right in the book!
★ Student Response
This problem and solution lesson also comes with a written response and problem and solution worksheet to really help your students connect with the text and build their knowledge on the reading strategy. There are multiple response sheets that allow for differentiation. An answer key is also provided for your reference.
