Welcome to The Colorful Apple!

Welcome to The Colorful Apple!  I am so glad you are here!  You may know me from Smiling In Second Grade.

It’s been exactly two years since I began that blog.  When I started, I had no idea how much I would love blogging and that I would still be doing it two years later!  Had I known what I was getting myself into, I may have chosen a less grade-specific blog name.  As much as I loved the name, Smiling In Second Grade, I am moving onto bigger and better things!

Well, maybe just bigger students…I am a fifth grade teacher now!  I found out at the end of the school year that I would be leaving 2nd grade and moving up.  Here is a picture of my last day in my classroom of 4 1/2 years.

I was super nervous but so excited as well.  I knew there were going to be many things that I would miss about being a second grade teacher {esp my teacher friends!} but I was so looking forward to working with the older students.  Luckily, I not only stayed in the same district, but the same school as well.  That made the transition so much easier.

Here are some early pictures of my classroom {there will be a full tour later on – don’t worry!}

My husband came in to help me on the first day!  Can you find him?!  He’s never helped me in my classroom before.  I think he felt bad that I had to move from the first floor to the third floor on the opposite side of the building.  I have a lot of stuff!
But I clean up quickly!  Here’s Day 2!
To thank you for joining me on new adventure, I am having giveaways all week!  I’ll be giving away a few of my favorite things.
First up, is a $25 giftcard to Teachers Pay Teachers!  Now, who doesn’t need that during this crazy back to school season?!
All you need to do is follow me on Bloglovin, then leave me a comment telling me your blog and grade level so I can get to know you too!  I’ll choose a winner on Saturday morning.  Then come back tomorrow for another chance to win!
